To Friends,

RE: 13TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE AT IGINA FRIENDS CHURCH FROM 3RD NOVEMBER TO 4TH DECEMBER, 2005

Greetings from the brethrens who attended the above conference at Igina Friends Church.

460 registered delegates drawn from the four (4) Regions forming the Lugari Yearly meeting namely Soy, Lugari Lumakanda and Maturu attended.

Conference theme; Jeremiah 1:10, which says;
”I APPOINT YOU OVER NATIONS AND KINGDOMS TO UPROOT AND TEAR DOWN, DESTROY, BUILD AND PLANT”.

The main speaker, Pastor Leonita Mugofwa based her message mainly on the prophet Jeremiah. She introduced the theme by telling the congregation that Jeremiah was a prophet for 40 years and was loved by God. That God called Jeremiah during the period of storm and stress, when the doom of entire nation including Judah itself was being sealed. He was to denounce sin and pronounce judgement, afterwards forgiveness and cleansing.

She encouraged the brethren that everything done, glory should go to God, and warned that God’s wrath was going to be poured on the children of the nation unless they repent. She further encouraged the brethrens to plant good works and words in others lives, pray for peace and build others. Jesus Christ came to bring reconciliation and through the blood, there is restoration.

The message was so touching that manifestation of the Holy Spirit was realized which saw many believers repent and got delivered.

We also had other topics to strengthen the theme, among them entrepreneurship, widows, women rights in succession and inheritance.

The annual event of garlanding the aged women who have diligently and unselfishly served the church for many years was colourfully and jubilantly celebrated. It saw ten (10) such women getting honoured. A token of appreciation was also given to former USFW bearers, while Monthly, Quarterly and Regional Meetings that excelled in promoting church activities got rewarded

The congregation responded positively towards the annual financials report which was precisely and clearly presented to them. The meeting was privileged to host FWCC clerk Gladys Kangai, Clerk USFW Kenya Dorothy Selebwa, Pastor USFW Kenya Norah Musundi, FUM Africa section representative Eden Grace and eight (8) sister USFW yearly meeting representatives. Those who attended the conference numbered 800 on the final day.

May God bless you more abundantly and wish you a Merry Christmas and prosperous happy New Year 2006.

MARGARET LUSIMBA PRESIDING CLERK
